Improving Healthcare Services

Equipped Regional Referral Hospitals with CT Scans:
Fourteen regional referral hospitals, including Arua, Entebbe, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Jinja, Kabale, Lira, Mbale, Mbarara, Moroto, Mubende, Mbarara, and Soroti, have been equipped with CT scans. The installation of these CT scans is ongoing and will be commissioned within this financial year.

 

Oxygen Supply Enhancement:
All regional referral hospitals have been equipped with 15 cc per hour oxygen plants, and additional plants with higher capacities have been procured and installed to ensure a steady supply of oxygen across the country. The National Medical Stores has also procured a 60,000-liter cryogenic oxygen storage tank to further improve oxygen supply. The Ministry of Health is finalizing the National Oxygen Scale-Up Strategic Plan.

 

Renovation and Equipping of General Hospitals:
Gombe General Hospital has been renovated, including the OPD block, administration, general ward, MCH block, and construction of staff houses. The renovation and expansion of Busolwe Hospital have commenced and are currently at 15% completion. Kambuga Hospital's renovation has also begun and will cost UGX 32 billion.
