Work with gov’t to eliminate household poverty – Namayanja

The Deputy Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt.Hon.Namayanja Nsereko has urged religious leaders to embrace and monitor the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM) initiatives in their areas for the well-being of the people their serve.
 
Namayanja made the remarks in Bukomero town council, Kiboga district during a fundraising function for the construction of Nabinnene Catholic Church yesterday Sunday. 
“I want to request our spiritual leaders to join the struggle against the monster called poverty which has crippled many families. This can be done through encouraging believers to heed government advice of commercial production,” the Deputy Secretary General said. 
 
According to Namayanja, the government is entirely committed to the fight against subsistence production in its manifesto. “Our resolve is to secure the future of all Ugandans.” 
 
Over 75 million shillings was collected with Rt. Hon. Namayanja contributed 5 million and promised more support.  
 
The function was organized by Minister for Energy and Minerals, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa at Nabinnene primary school attracted several high-profile people including Commissioner of Parliament, Solomon Siliwanyi, NRM Vice Chairman for the central region, Godfrey Kiwanda, and Kiboga area members of parliament.
