Busoga, Uganda - The NRM Vice Chairman for the Eastern Region, Capt. Mike Mukula, embarked on an exhilarating journey alongside senior party leaders from the Secretariat, as they traversed the districts of Busoga. Their mission? To mobilize leaders and supporters, urging them to wholeheartedly embrace and utilize the government programs implemented in the area.

The excitement was palpable as Capt. Mukula addressed the enthusiastic structure leaders of the party from Bugabula North County in Kamuli, gathering at the Balawoli town council headquarters. With conviction in his voice, he highlighted the strength of the NRM, attributing it to the trust and support from the ordinary grassroots individuals.

"Our new strategy of mobilization as a party is not to wait for the five years to elapse. It is the reason we are here to consult with our people on the progress of the manifesto implementation. As leaders, we need to understand what has been accomplished and the projects yet to be handled," declared Capt. Mukula. The gathering nodded in agreement, recognizing the importance of actively engaging with the community to assess the challenges and enhance service delivery in crucial areas such as infrastructure, access to clean water, healthcare, and education.

Capt. Mukula further emphasized that the mobilization drive aimed to empower NRM structures in fighting poverty at the village and sub-county levels. The goal was to ensure that poverty eradication programs like the Presidential Initiative on Wealth and Job Creation (Emyooga) and the Parish Development Model (PDM) reached their intended beneficiaries, transforming lives and uplifting communities.

Joining in the conversation, the NRM Deputy National Treasurer, Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuheire, shared the party's vision of rolling out the mobilization strategy on wealth creation and service delivery nationwide. She stressed the need to reawaken and empower elected structure leaders, equipping them with knowledge and responsibility to monitor the implementation of government programs within their villages, parishes, and sub-counties.

"The NRM structure leaders have the task of monitoring government programs and ensuring transparency, especially with PDM, as the government's goal is to fight poverty among households," explained Hon. Kyatuheire. The crowd applauded, recognizing the crucial role they would play in driving development and making a tangible difference in the lives of the people they serve.

The NRM's mobilization tour in the Busoga Sub-region is currently underway, encompassing the districts of Kamuli, Buyende, and Luuka. Technocrats from these districts have been diligently preparing to equip the leaders with relevant information, aligning them with the objectives of service delivery and wealth creation. This comprehensive approach aims to address the concerns and aspirations of the people, fostering a brighter future for all.

As the tour progresses, the spirit of unity and determination continues to inspire NRM leaders and supporters in Busoga. The mobilization drive serves as a powerful catalyst for change, propelling the community towards sustainable development and a future free from the shackles of poverty. With Capt. Mukula and Hon. Kyatuheire at the helm, the NRM's commitment to the people of Busoga remains resolute, strengthening bonds and forging a path towards prosperity.
