The NRM Secretary-General, Rt Hon. Richard Todwong has commended a section of party leaders and supporters from Luweero district who recently formed a task force to spearhead mobilization and sensitization of locals on poverty alleviation government programs through community outreaches.
SG Todwong who met the group led by party CEC member Hon.Gaddafi Nassur today at plot 10 Kyadondo road, said the initiative will help to unite NRM supporters and as well heal some members that may have conflicted during party primaries.
Todwong also briefed the group on the progress of the party’s decision to construct NRM offices as a monument to the bush-war liberation struggles and people’s sacrifice in the 1980s.
He however warned leaders against scheming to defraud the party in acquiring land where to raise the building.
In a memorandum of understanding presented to SG, the task force expressed commitment towards working with the Secretariat to win more supporters in Luweero and nearby districts.
They also asked the Secretary-General to convey their regards to the National Chairman and H.E President Yoweri Museveni for his generosity, having donated to kick start the construction of the monumental party offices in the district.
