SG Todwong urges students on resilience and passion for education

The NRM Secretary General Rt Hon Richard Todwong yesterday visited Muni University where held an interactive discussion with a cross-section of students there.

In his discussion, the Secretary General applauded the students for prioritizing their education that has seen them reach university level. He also appealed to them to be resilient and have passion in whatever they do.

“As you plan on joining the world out there, you have to position yourselves because employers are no longer considering academic papers only, but also swiftness, resilience and passion; Many of you have a mentality of ‘how much will I be paid’ but all that is nothing because responsibility is above the amount of money that you would wish to earn,” the Secretary General said.

Todwong then urged them to shun the opposition doctrines that have no solid future prospects for the country, but instead embrace the NRM ideology with a proven track record that has seen this country progress from a near failed state to what it is now.

“Managing a country is not a simple fete, but President Yoweri Museveni has managed to put this Nation together. Other political parties are only focused on the assumption that by removing him, Uganda will be a better place without them reflecting what Uganda was by then and where the country has reached. There focus is myopic and selfish in nature unlike the NRM vision that is aimed at uplifting the lives of all Ugandans,” Todwong added.

On her part, the Director of Finance and Administration Hajjat Medina Naham, thanked the students for their time and also urged them to equip themselves with knowledge in order not to be misled by opportunists.

She called on them to make use of the weekly NRM ideological clinics that happen every Thursday of the week to furnish themselves with priceless knowledge of the country and the NRM as a party.

“The Party has an educative and interactive online session every Thursday of the week at the party headquarters. Take time to always tap in and improve your ideology as these sessions will sharpen and broaden your knowledge and perspective of how things are done and have been.” She said.

The meeting was attended by the Arua Member of Parliament Mr. Atima Lee Jackson, the students leaders at the University among others
