The National Resistance Movement Secretariat Director for Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Seninde has emphasized the importance of training leaders to understand and appreciate their roles in leading their communities. She stated that although the NRM government has put in place many beneficial initiatives for citizens, leaders must be knowledgeable about these programs to effectively support their communities.

Seninde made the call today while addressing over 2000 leaders who have been undergoing a Five -day patriotic orientation in Kasambya Town Council, Kasambya County in Mubende District.

During the meeting, Hon. Seninde educated the leaders on the responsibilities of a mobiliser in the community, saying,  "As leaders, we need to be trained to understand our roles so that we can serve our people effectively. A mobiliser is someone who is supposed to educate the community about government programs and initiatives that can benefit them. We must equip ourselves with the knowledge to effectively serve our communities." Seninde added.

Hon. Seninde also addressed the concerns raised by residents about the lack of appropriate and approved medicines for treating their cattle. She stated that the government is committed to addressing these issues and urged leaders to work with the relevant authorities to find solutions, saying, "It's important that we work together to address the concerns of our communities. We need to engage with the relevant authorities to find solutions to the challenges facing our people."

The Commissioner for Patriotism in the office of the President, Brigadier General Patrick Mwesigye, also spoke at the event and appealed to leaders to become wealth influencers in their communities. Mwesigye emphasized the need for leaders to encourage their people to engage in business production and commercial agriculture to reduce poverty levels in the country.

Mwesigye explained that the training was aimed at instilling positive attitudes, values, and norms among leaders drawn from various social and economic strata, including Village Health Teams (VHTs), Local Council (LC) representatives, NRM chairpersons, boda-boda cyclists, religious leaders, and youth leaders.

Mwesigye further urged leaders to avoid alarmism and negative messaging among the people they lead, highlighting the importance of positive leadership in fostering development and progress in communities.
