The Deputy Secretary-General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko has commended the current government led by President Yoweri Museveni for providing free space and freedom of worship for all Ugandans, something that was impossible in previous regimes.

“I want to thank President Yoweri Museveni and his government for allowing everyone to worship including us from the Seventh-day Adventist church,” Namayanja said yesterday Saturday at Seventh - day Adventist, Matugga where she was invited to officiate at their 50th anniversary.

She asked Christians and religious leaders to use their powers and influence in advocating for public policies that are aimed at the social wellbeing of society where they live.

“As Christians, Our noble mandate is to protect the vulnerable in our communities like the elderly and children just like Christ did during his time earth,” Mrs. Namayanja said.

Children

Rt. Hon. Namayanja called upon children to have discipline and self-control if they are to achieve their desired goals in life, saying such principles will drive them to meet with people in society.

“Discipline and success are inseparable. It is the reason behind my over two-decade political journey,” Namayanja said, adding that, “young people also need to remain committed to God who is the source of wisdom, favour and guidance.”

After divine service, Deputy Secretary General, Namayanja offered 8M as contribution for the construction of a bigger church. The church begun a fundraising drive to rise over 2Billion shillings in a bid to expand the existing church building.
