Monday 7th April 2025

The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon Namayanja Rose Nsereko has called on party leaders and supporters to unite ahead of the upcoming general elections, emphasising solidarity over internal divisions.

‎Namayanja said yesterday at Rwebitakuri Seed secondary school in Mawogola West, Sembabule district, during the 'Buganda for Museveni' Mobilisation rally, she was the chief guest. ‎

"Our main target is to defeat and eliminate the opposition leaders in Sembabule and other constituencies because they have nothing to offer to the population," Namayanja said. ‎

"We are going to vote NRM from the president up to the villages because "NRM under President Yoweri Museveni has provided good leadership hence fostering growth and development in the country."

‎Hon. Hanifa Kawooya Bangirana, Minister of State of Health and Member of Parliament Mawogola West said they are committed to traverse all districts in Buganda to mobilize for President Museveni because he is an exceptional leader.

‎"We have achieved a lot with NRM and much more is still in the pipeline," Kawooya said. ‎She reiterated the call for peaceful primary elections "because NRM supporters belong to one family." ‎

"They should not accept to be divided by self-seekers; instead, we should unite and throw all our wait behind strong candidates who will redeem the lost counties to the opposition," she urged. ‎

The Minister of Energy and Minerals, Hon.Ruth Nankabirwa commended the Sembabule residents for hiding the president's call to embrace commercial agriculture, especially growing coffee and dairy farming to improve their welfare. ‎

"We are working to ensure cheap electricity is extended to your villages to aid processing of your produce," she said. ‎She reminded the locals to utilize rotational funds like Emyooga and the parish development model to improve their household incomes.

The event was also attended by Hon. Aisha Sekindi (Water), Hon. Amos Lugolobi (Economic Planning), and several Members of Parliament from the central region.
