Museveni expected in Serere to campaign for NRM’s Oucor

Excitement and eagerness among people in Serere County as the NRM leaders prepare to receive today Tuesday, President Yoweri Museveni who also doubles as party National Chairman.  

President Museveni will be in the area to canvass support for the NRM flag bearer Mr.Philip Oucor as campaigns for the Serere county parliamentary by-election come to a close, ahead of voting day on 23th Thursday. 

The President is expected to hold two rallies as he seeks for support of the NRM candidate. 

According to the NRM Director for Communication, Hon. Emmanuel Dombo, President Museveni will hold the first rally at Sapir primary school in Ocaapa town council, where he meets leaders from Ocaapa town council, Kyere and Kateta sub counties. 

Later in the afternoon, Mr Museveni will hold the second rally at Serere district grounds in Serere town council where he address leaders from Atiira subcounty and Serere town council. 

Museveni is expected to guide the local leadership on key issues and also highlight the key government achievements that have been registered in the district. 

 

The Chairman's visit to Serere follows two weeks of vigorous campaigns that have been spearheaded by party leaders that including Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde (Director for Mobilization), Hon Emmanuel Dombo (Director of Information and PR) among others.   

 

Oucor is tussling it out with four other candidates in the race who include; Emmanuel Omonding, Independent, Alice Alaso for Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), Emmanuel Eratu of Forum for democratic change (FDC), and Eng. Oungricho Martin who is also independent.
