Friday 8th September 2023

The NRM flagbearer in the Hoima By-election, Mugisha Uthuman Mubarak has assured voters that the government is committed to deliver improved services if he is elected as the LCV Chairman. He was traversing Kabale Sub County, as he sought for votes to win the Hoima LCV seat.

Mugisha praised the government for improving the road network in the area, especially the Oil tarmac roads, saying that they have facilitated trade, industry and businesses of the rural population.

“I am pleased by the good roads I have seen throughout the campaigns. This gives me confidence and assurance of the yet to be done projects like improving schools infrastructure, electricity connectivity and safe water supply in all villages,” Mugisha said.

He called on all NRM supporters who may have elected other aspirants in primaries to join him since he now holds the party flag.

“We were all fighting for the NRM flag and you gave it to me. I implore you to back me against our opponents in the oppositions,” Mugisha stated as he combed Kigaaga A and B parishes in Bugahya constituency.

He also sought for the blessings of the electors, saying, “The LC5 race is not for me alone to handle. It is the work of all members and supporters including our Chairman and President Yoweri Museveni to ensure that the ruling party delivers victory.”

The Director of Mobilisation for NRM, Hon. Rosemary Seninde cautioned voters against electing NRM opponents saying, “It is the NRM in government with a five-year mandate to deliver services to the people.”

She added, "The sober decision of choosing Uthuman Mugisha as flagbearer should be maintained,” Seninde remarked, noting that, “the opponents are self-seekers who don’t wish the people of Hoima well.

The Director of Communication, Hon. Emmanuel Dombo while on the campaign trail reiterated that, “the good roads in Hoima and the jobs that have been created for young people out of the oil extraction activities are a clear testimony of NRM’s strategic plans to improve the livelihoods of the communities.”

He promised that the remaining tasks for Mugisha if elected as district chairman should be to streamline land concerns and issues of the fishing communities on Lake Albert.

"Our message as NRM is one and consistent. We seek the mandate of securing your future,” Dombo emphasized.
