The NRM Deputy Secretary-General, Rt.Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, has asked students to always double their efforts if they are to succeed in life. Namayanja says commitment and hard work are what make one successful in life. She made the call as she interacted with students of Light College Katikamu in Wakiso district.
In her speech, she thanked the school administration for nurturing young people into national leaders.
"You imparted leadership skills and taught me to put God first in everything, which has seen me progress in life," Namayanja said, adding that "My value-based life and leadership skills originated at this school."
Namayanja noted that congregating and fellowshipping in prayers makes them appreciate that everything is possible with God, hence urging students to appreciate the value of prayers.
"While in school, neither the teachers, heads of schools, nor the learners may understand that amongst them are ministers, doctors, lawyers, and technicians," as the deputy Secretary-General said as she challenged the learners to have a goal in life.
Namayanja emphasized the need for students to work hard in their academics, saying it is the core of life. "You are studying for yourself, not for your parents. So read hard to prepare for a bright future."
The School Chaplain, Pastor Nyanzi Isaac, thanked the deputy Secretary General for sparing time to share with the students that "they have appreciated more that God is at the forefront of every success."
He said that students must appreciate that leaders begin from humble backgrounds, but commitment and hard work are what make people successful in life, which the deputy Secretary-General exhibited.
“Hon. Namayanja was once a student at this school, and the core values of leadership that she attained while in school prompted us to invite her to share a moment with the students to guide them on steps to take if they want to be important people in life”. Pastor Nyanzi said.
