The NRM National Secrerariat extends special thanks to the people of Gogonyo County, Pallisa district for turning up in big numbers to receive the Party Chairman and Head of State Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday.
The Party further appreciates the gesture by the two other candidates in the race; Mr. Taligola Issa (Independent) and Mr. Okoboi Opolot (NUP) for their public declaration during our Tuesday rallies that they had stepped down in favour of the NRM Candidate, Hon Derrick Orone. As NRM, its our desire to continue winning more support for the Party and we were excited to welcome the two members back home.

The Party however, informs its membership especially in Gogonyo electoral area that there are still some legal technicalities that need to be addressed by the two withdrawing candidates before the National Electoral Commission declares NRM's Derrick Orone unopposed. Until we get an official communication from EC, we can not claim to have sealed this victory.
This is therefore to ask all our party members and the individual supporters of our candidate to continue with all the necessary arrangements for the Thursday polls. We urge you to immediately stop the celebrations and focuss on the elections. Voting time starts at 7:00am and end 4:00pm.
In case of any new developments contrary to this current position, the Secretariat will communicate to you through the media and other possible channels.
