The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja Nsereko has called upon women to actively contribute to Nation-building through various endeavors.

‎She urged the women today as she delivered a sermon at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Najjanankumbi where she was the Guest preacher.

‎In her sermon themed, "The Cravings of the Soul," drawn from Ephesians 2:10 and John 15:5, Namayanja said fellow women should undertake in production activities thanks to the government financial interventions like the parish development model, Emyooga, Grow among others.

‎"What does your soul truly crave? Beyond material needs, God has called each of you to a unique mission, use your calling to transform yourself and others." She said, emphasizing the need for self-awakening and encouraging women to believe in their God-given potential and use it to uplift others in their communities.

‎Namayanja also highlighted the value of education and skills development, advising women to use their phones as a gateway to knowledge.

‎"Use the Internet to learn trade, access financial literacy programs, and build sustainable livelihoods," she said. Adding that socio-economic transformation, a key development agenda, relies on bringing all citizens into the money economy.

‎"When women engage in income-generating activities, they don’t just uplift their families but they advance Uganda’s vision of inclusive growth," she said, affirming that "financial independence is not a privilege, it is your right."

‎Reflecting on Uganda's journey in promoting gender equality, Namayanja highlighted significant milestones the NRM government has registered in uplifting the status of women.

‎ "The 1995 Constitution paved the way for greater women's participation, introducing laws that promote gender equality. This progress was further underscored in 2003 when Uganda appointed its first female Vice President, marking a historic breakthrough. Today, women continue to break barriers, serving in key leadership positions across government and the private sector."

‎ "As we lift the girl child, we must also support the boy child. True development leaves no one behind."
