SENINDE, DOMBO RALLY KAYUNGA VOTERS TO SUPPORT NRM CANDIDATE

The NRM Flag bearer Mr. Andrew Muwonge was on Tuesday morning fully nominated to contest  for the LCV seat in the by-election slated for December 16th this year.

Addressing the Media shortly after his nomination, Muwonge pledged to serve the people of Kayunga equally regardless of their political affiliations,  religion, tribe or age. "If elected, I shall honestly serve you and will not even hesitate reaching out to H.E the President for any assistance required by the people of Kayunga", he said. He added, "Am an NRM member and the President is my National Chairman,  he cant lock me out if there is need that requires his immediate intervention. I also have full support from the NRM party secretariat".

On land issues in the district, Muwonge said he will find a final solution to this problem is elected. "I have been a victim to these land problems in my district. As a leader, I shall not sit back and watch my people facing evictions", Muwonge promised. 

Hon Sseninde preaches unity ahead of polls

The Director of Mobilisation,  recruitment and cadre development Hon Rose Sseninde said the poor performance in the 2021 polls was partly blamed on internal bickering within the party members that cost us some votes. She urged the NRM voters to shelve their differences and  get a common compass that will direct the party to a deserved victory.  Seninde said she will canvas support from all people including those in the opposition urging that, this by-election is an opportunity for Kayunga people to have a fresh begining.

She committed herself to keep a keen eye on Muwonge for him to deliver to the population expectations when he gets into office. The Mobilisation Director who is the overall coordinator of these campaigns said her team will work towards a peaceful electoral process.

The Director - Information, Hon. Emmanuel Dombo Lumala congratulated the candidate for going through a successful nomination exercise and called for respect among all candidates.

Dombo reminded Kayunga residents to observe the Covid-19 protocols during campaigns.

The candidate later had a marathon drive through all the 13 sub counties and was received with alot of excitement from both the urban and village folks. The youthful Andrew Muwonge commands majority support from his fellow youths and his name was proposed by the district youth Council Chairperson for nomination. 

Kayunga decides their next Chairperson on December 16th.
