Namayanja boosts Orion Choir bus fundraising with 13m

The NRM Deputy Secretary-General, Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko has boosted a fundraising campaign of a Luweero-based SDA choir, Ascending Orion Ministries. They are looking for 120 million to procure a coaster to ease their movement during their ministry operations.
 
While presiding over at the choir’s 30th anniversary thanksgiving at Luweero Seventh - day Adventist church on Saturday Namayanja contributed Shs 3M and also offered 10million shillings from the NRM Secretariat towards the same cause.
 
She praised the choir for having loved and served God and brethrens for three decades amidst limited resources.
 
“The church and God in heaven are pleased by your ministry which has seen many people accept God to be their lord and savior,” Namayanja said in her message as she congratulated the choir for reaching that milestone in service.
 
Mr. Rogers Mulindwa, the senior manager of communication at NRM Secretariat and the current Patron of the Ascending Orion Choir thanked the Almighty for saving Ugandans from the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, a disease that devastated many countries especially in Europe and America. He also contributed 2M cash towards the Orion’s fundraising drive.
 
Other distinguished guests who attended the special Sabbath fundraising service include, Orion’s former Patron, Dr. Dalton Ssegawa and Nakasongola MP, Hon. Noah Mutebi who contributed 5M and 1M respectively.
 
UGX. 32,548,500 was realized in cash. UGX 2.5M was offered in cheques and 8,920,000 in pledges.
 
According to the Choir’s Treasurer, Ms Racheal Nasaazi, a total of 63M has so far been collected.
 
In December 2021, Mr. Mulindwa initiated the idea of the Choir acquiring a Coaster for transport means and 25M cash was collected at a fundraising function he organized at his home in Wakiso district. The NRM’s National Treasurer, Amb Barbara Nekesa offered 10 million shillings.
