The preparations are in high gear in Nakaseke district as the country readies to celebrate the 80th birthday of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni tomorrow Sunday 15th.
The Leaders both national and local spent the day traversing the district mobilising locals for the Sunday big day. The steering committee also organized a medical camp as part of corporate social responsibility.
The main event will occur at Kijjaguzo Catholic Parish in Semuto Town Council. The NRM deputy Secretary general Rt.Hon Namayanja Rose Nsereko said the selected venue is so significant to the history of President Museveni and the NRA during the 1986 liberation struggle.
"it is here that the President chose to host his celebrations with his people from the Luwero triangle and beyond," Namayanja said.
Namayanja said "We choose to celebrate President Museveni because he liberated Uganda from bad leadership. He got us from a failed State to now a stable, prosperous and peaceful State."
She added that it is imperative to acknowledge the contributions of a revolutionary who committed his life to the well-being of Ugandans.
"Uganda is peaceful from border to border and we have also gone ahead to pacify the region," She said.
On Education
Mrs Namayanja said the people of Greater Luweero commend Museveni's government for ensuring that children attain basic education through the building of a primary school per parish and a secondary school in each sub-county.
"Pupils no longer walk long distances to attend school thanks to the president, Namayanja said.
