Mulindwa preaches unity to NRM leadership in Rukiga

"I am impressed to see the level of unity amongst you as party leaders in Rukiga district  and it's my humble prayer that this spirit continues growing", NRM Senior Manager in charge of Communications Rogers Mulindwa remarked.

This was on Sunday evening while being hosted to a special dinner by Kampala City businessman and Rukiga District NRM Chairperson Mr. Apollo Nyegamehe popularly known as Aponye at his country home in Muhanga Town Council. Aponye extended an invitation to Mulindwa to preside over the finals of Rukiga Women Football tournament in Kashambya Sub County. Nyasa Ladies FC emerged champions after edging MTC Women  FC 1-0 in the finals.

After the match, Aponye led his guest to his home for dinner in appreciation of his acceptance to honour the event. Eleven of the DEC members attended the dinner. 

In his brief remarks to his hosts, Mulindwa said the leading challenge of NRM was the widely spread internal bickering among it's members and hailed Rukiga district for the exhibited team work. Earlier on, Aponye had proudly mentioned that he was enjoying full support from his executive committee members. The dinner was also attended by the Deputy Managing Director of National Water & Sewerage Cooperation Dr. Sylivia Arineitwe, the sole sponsor of the Women Football tournament and Mr. G.W Kanagizi the Senior Presidential Advisor on Kigezi region.

Mulindwa urged to he party members always to hold meetings and iron out any emerging issues that could affect their existing cordial working relationship.

Winners get cash bonuses & balls
The chief organiser of the tournament Dr Sylivia Arineitwe offered cash bonuses to the winning teams. Champions Nyasa Ladies took UgX 1m on top of the giltering trophy.

First runners-up MTC Women FC got 0.8m, third placed St. Aloysius (0.6m) and Ibumba ladies FC walked back home with 0.5m. On behalf of NRM, Mulindwa donated a ball to each team that participated.

Presidential Advisor pledges support
Senior Presidential Advisor Mzee George William Kanagizi called upon the young people to  avoid spending time on issues that are less beneficial to their well being. He pledged support to youth activities and asked them to remain supportive to the ruling NRM.

Dr. Arineitwe to lobby for girls
Arineitwe said she was impressed by the style of play the girls displayed throughout the tournament and promised more support towards the girl child and other development activities. Several religious leaders watched the finals.
