Kisoro By-election: Unity, Prosperity dominate NRM rallies as campaigns intensity

Saturday 9th November 2024

The NRM candidate in the Kisoro Woman MP by-election, Rose Kabagyeni, has continued to seek support as she makes inroads into various areas in the district. Yesterday, she traversed wooing supporters in Bukimbiri Sub County and Nyanamo town council in Bukimbiri County.

Kabagyeni, who is tussling it out with 5 others to clinch the parliamentary seat, told electorates to allow her to represent them in the August house to ensure the NRM promises and pledges are fulfilled.

"As you elected me to carry the NRM flag," Kabagyeni asked the locals to overwhelmingly assert their voice by voting for her again come Thursday next week.

"Let us shun election violence and hate speech because we are brothers and sisters, and don't accept the politics of division on tribes, religion and sectarianism lines. Instead, remain united in the NRM party because we are similar people," Kabagyeni said.

Kabagyeni also used her campaign trail to rally residents to actively embrace Government programmes to fight poverty in their homesteads and uplift their standards of living.

The NRM Deputy National Treasurer, Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, said if elected, Kabagyeni will coordinate well with the government and other leaders to ensure effective service delivery. "It is only the NRM with clear policies through its manifesto of transforming lives.

President Museveni is looking for a cadre to serve you. I ask you to elect the NRM candidate who is loyal and committed to serving you," Kyatuhaire said.

Hon. Rosemary Seninde, the Director of Mobilisation of the NRM party, reiterated that “There are many tribal communities in Kisoro district who for decades have lived together in harmony and united, which will not be destroyed by-elections.”I encourage you to stay peaceful throughout the entire process,” Seninde said.

She also underscored the role of elections as an exercise to choose a capable leader ready to serve all.

“The leaders provide solutions to people’s challenges, not sloganeering. They lobby for good roads, better education, good health care, electricity, and clean water for domestic use,” the NRM's head of mobilisation said.

The NRM senior Manager for Communication, Mr. Rogers Mulindwa, urged Kabagyeni’s supporters to embark on house-to-house mobilisation of their neighbours, reminding them to vote on the polling day.

"It is your noble duty to elect a leader of your choice. Spare some time to go and vote," Mulindwa rallied the electorates in the Bukimbiri areas.
