The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, has reaffirmed the government's commitment towards empowering the youth and women in achieving food security at the household level.

Speaking at the Youth and Women in Agro Systems pavilion during the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) conference in Munyonyo last week, Namayanja said this is being done through access to financial inclusion, like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, and access to markets for their agricultural products.

Namayanja emphasised the importance of leveraging affordable technology for value addition in agriculture. She stated, “We are working towards resilience and unity, recognising that agriculture is not only a livelihood but also the foundation for building a prosperous and inclusive Africa. This requires multi-sectoral and international collaboration.”
