As the country continues to eulogize the late Hon. Aleper Simon Peter, a section of members of the party Central Executive Committee (CEC) where Aleper represented the Karamoja region, says the late was a fine man who advocated for the welfare of his people without bias.
The Chairman of the Persons With Disability (PWDs) in the CEC, Hon. Gabriel Kato said his departed colleague leaves behind a legacy of objectivity and openness in all his actions.
“We shall endeavor to emulate his outstanding rare character of dedicating life to national service in the interest of the ordinary people,” Kato said today Monday at Aleper’s home in Kangole town council, Napak district,” Kato said.
He added that the untimely death of their friend is “a great shock and big blow to the business of the NRM‘s top organ because his wisdom on the affairs of this area (Karamoja) will dearly be missed.”
The NRM Youth League Chairman, Hajj. Gaddafi Nasur praised Simon Peter Aleper as a people-oriented leader who represented all communities of the Karamoja well.
“He will be remembered for promoting unity and spearheading investment and proper utilization of the mineral resources for the good of everybody through providing employment opportunities,” Gaddafi said.
Gaddafi revealed that Aleper was a key player in bringing economic opportunities to Karamoja, like the cement factories, and indeed died in the line of duty while on his way to Kampala to meet the President over similar matters.
Hajjat Medina Naham, the NRM Director of Finance and Administration who also joined locals to mourn Aleper, reiterates that “the late was sincere, intelligent yet humble man.”
On the Secretariat’s behalf, Medina committed that the Party will keep supporting the deceased’s family and standing with them because they are part of the NRM family.
Medina said President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the NRM Chairman, promised to help Aleper’s family, including building a residential home in Kampala and educating his children to the desired levels.
“Our role as Secretariat is to love and keep the family close to us and happy,” Hajjat Medina said.
The Napak Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Faith Nakut said Aleper loved development and empowerment of all people.
“It is the reason he started the Karamoja Professionals Association to bring together all the regional elites for the prosperity of the people in villages.
Aleper will be laid to rest tomorrow in Kangole in Napak district.
