The National Resistance Movement today dispatched teams into villages of Kikuube district to amplify vote mobilisation in an effort to ensure that the Party's candidate for the LC5 contest gains a landslide victory.
The NRM ticket holder in the Kikuube by-election, Paddy Kisembo, NRM’s Electoral Commission commissioner, Hon. Jane Alisemera and Senior Manager for Mobilization Sam Eyenga led teams into several villages as they met and addressed eager electorates in Kyangwali and Kabwoya Sub Counties.
Kisembo, while meeting voters in the villages of Kabwoya sub-county said: “I have decided to come directly to you to tell you about the NRM promises like completion of Kabalega airport, tarmacing of more roads, improvement in health and education services among others and appeal to you to choose me to work with government in fulfilling these promises.”
“I commend President Museveni and the NRM government on the service delivery in Kikuube especially the road infrastructure and commit to deliver on other areas if elected to lead the district,” Kisembo said during stop overs.
The NRM leadership reiterated a call to the locals to hugely turn up and vote, saying, “Your decision in next week’s election will have an implication on the future of the Oil-rich district.”
Commissioner Alisemera who spearheaded mobilization in Kyangwali emphasized, “This election is not a matter of Kisembo as an individual but a concern of the NRM Chairman Yoweri Museveni, NRM as a ruling party."
“All eyes are on you as NRM supporters to deliver victory," Alisemera said.
She expressed confidence to return to Kampala with victory, saying, “Your reception is an indication of victory. We have been together from day one and I hope we end up together,” she said.
The voting-hunting exercise heads to Kiziranfumbe town council tomorrow Thursday, with elections scheduled for next week.
