On behalf of the National Resistance Movement Party, and on my own behalf, we send our sincere condolences to the people of Tooro, the Royal Family of Tooro, Ugandans and all well-wishers following the sad news about the sudden demise of His Royal Highness, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of Tooro.
We know this is a trying moment. Nothing about his health condition was known, and nothing about his condition was reported anywhere. Indeed, this has been a shock to everybody.
The party is in grief with the people of Tooro, the Royal Family and every Ugandan. We pray that the Kingdom finds calm and solace in the comfort of the many well-wishers, supporters and members that they have.
It is not an easy time. We pray that there is calm in the Kingdom and that there is honour and respect as we mourn His Royal Highness during this tragic moment.
We know that His Excellency the President has always wished all institutions of a royal nature progress and prosperity. His Royal Highness was working very closely with the Government in the areas of poverty eradication, health, education, water and sanitation.
He was helping his Kingdom to come out of poverty and working closely with the Government of Uganda.
We know this has been a very big shock to everybody, and we pray that we give him respect as we mourn and reflect on his good deeds that have occurred over the years.
May God put his soul in eternal rest. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
