NRM Wraps Up Karamoja Entry Meetings with Call for Unity

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has concluded its Karamoja sub-regional entry meetings with a renewed call for unity and intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming Village Women Council and Local Council I (LC I) elections.

The meetings were held in Kotido and Moroto, led by NRM Electoral Commission Commissioner Hon. Juliana Modesta Auma and CEC Member and Minister for Karamoja Affairs Hon. John Baptist Lokii.

The engagements brought together party leaders to re-energise NRM structures and coordinate mobilisation for the Village Women Council elections on 23 July 2026 and the LC I Chairperson elections on 28 July 2026.

Hon. Modesta and Hon. Lokii urged leaders to remain united, trust the leadership of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, and work together to secure victory for all NRM flag bearers.

They emphasised that grassroots leaders should operate as one team, putting the party's interests first while spreading the message delivered by the President and the Secretary General that strong village-level mobilisation is key to strengthening the NRM and protecting its achievements.
