NRM leaders start day 2 of central region tour with call for unity

Wednesday 10th November 2021

Top officials of the ruling NRM party Secretariat today, Wednesday November 10, embark on the second day touring central Uganda. Led by the party's director for Mobilisation and Cadre development, Hon Rosemary Nansubug Sseninde, the officials will meet party district leaders in Kayonza Sub-county, Bbaale Constituency, in Kayunga District.

The tour which started yesterday in Bbaale Sub-county is expected to last four days as party officials interact with grassroot structures in a bid to follow up on government programmes and establish mechanisms to supervise service delivery across the country.

In Bbaale amd Galilaya sub-counties yesterday, Hon Sseninde cautioned the party leaders to shun any forms of internal  bickering and infighting, saying these have negatively impacted on the party support.

According to Sseninde, the  purpose of the regional tour is to listen to the people on ground and collect their views on how the NRM party can revive its support in Kayunga and the central region at large.

Hon Emmanuel Dombo, party director for communication who accompanied Mrs Sseninde expressed the need for the NRM party to attract youth into its leadership structures and activities if the party is to ensure seamless transition and growth for generations to come.

"AS NRM leaders, We have a responsibility of attracting youth  into vying for various positions  in our party inorder to clear any doudts and beliefs that the  party belongs to people in old age," Dombo tasked leaders.

Hon Dombo also asked leaders  to sensitize  locals about the available government programs like Emyooga, Parish Development Model, Operation Wealth Creation, and how they help to uplift communities from poverty and their subsistance way of living.
