Namayanja Commends Rotary Road Safety Campaign As She is Inducted A Member

‎The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja Nsereko has commended Rotary for introducing a project that seeks to promote safety as accidents claim lives daily.

‎On Sunday, Namayanja joined the members of Rotary Club of Semuto in Nakaseke district to welcome Rotary District 9213 Governor Gerald Obai during official club visit .

‎During the visit, Namayanja was inducted as member of Rotary Club of Semuto joining a network of more than 1.2 million members in 45,000 clubs globally.

‎Namayanja was also recognized as Paul Harris Fellow after making a donation of 1000 dollars to support Rotary Foundation activities.

‎Dr George Williams Kisitu the President of Rotary Club of Semuto and District Governor Gerald Obai congratulated Namayanja for the choice and promised to work with her to expand services in Nakaseke.

‎After induction, Namayanja now a Rotarian told her fellow Rotarians that she had joined Rotary because of the concept of service.

‎Namayanja who is involved in charity through Rose Namayanja Foundation said she has equally been involved in service but Rotary offers another opportunity to join other great minds to expand service to the community without expecting anything in return 

‎"That brings me in Rotary and for me it is also one of the things that took me into politics to make a contribution to the community where we come from and elsewhere." Namayanja told fellow Rotarians 

‎She also commended Rotarians for executing several projects that create lasting impact in communities.

‎She highlighted a signature project introduced by District Governor Gerald Obai of Road safety which they also implemented in Semuto through create awareness among boda boda riders and community on need to protect themselves against accidents.

‎Namayanja said the project is timely because accidents are now claiming more lives than many diseases and herself is a survivor of nasty accident which left permanent injury on her.

‎"So for me that is a project that I take very, very personal and I'm ready to work with all the members of Rotary and others to ensure that we fight accidents as we can.'' Namayanja said
