Kyagulanyi is a good musician but his political message is crooked - Otafiire

East African Affairs minister Gen Kahinda Otafiire has said Uganda deserves better leadership than what presidential candidate Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi is offering. Speaking to NRM party leaders from Bushenyi, Rubirizi, Sheema, Mitooma and Buhweju districts at St.Kaggwa Primary School in Bushenyi Gen Otafiire said Kyagulanyi is suited to continue with his music career and not politics.

“Somebody who doesn’t appreciate the power of debate! Someone who tells people to crowd in the era of covid-19! Excuse me, Uganda deserves better,” he said.

While campaigning to a gathered crowd in Koboko District on Tuesday, the National Unity Platform presidential flagbearer told his listeners to wear masks if they had them and if they did not then it was ok, there is nothing to worry about.

Otafiire, who is the NRM flag bearer for Ruhinda County advised Kyagulanyi to concentrate on his music career and leave politics for experienced people like President Yoweri Museveni. “I like Kyagulanyi’s music but I don’t appreciate his leadership style. He is a gifted musician but as a leader, he is wanting.

Gen Otafiire added that Kyagulanyi’s NUP is unknown in most parts of the country and because of this the presidential candidate was running desperate and delivering messages to call for sympathy rather than support. “How do you expect to win in those areas when people are not aware you are existing? I appreciate him as a musician but not his leadership style and message.”

Otafiire said that Kyagulanyi is a gifted singer whose concert he would gladly attend but noted he can’t accept him to be president because he is still an amateur who can’t take the country anywhere.

The Minister asked the public to vote for President Museveni whom he described as an experienced captain who has delivered victory for NRM and the country on many fronts.
