All set for Museveni to host political party leaders in Kololo summit

Five political parties with parliamentary representation are scheduled to meet today to discuss pertinent political issues. 

The party leaders under the Inter Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) will meet at Kololo independence grounds. President Yoweri Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party leader and the current IPOD summit chairman will preside over the meeting.

Under the theme “Dialogue for National Cohesion “The summit is expected to discuss issues that arose during and after the recent general elections and review of the previous summit resolutions including but not limited to the agreed position on the effective implementation of the Public Order Management Act (POMA). 

According to the press release the IPOD Council Chairperson Rt. Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba released earlier this week, the presidents and Secretaries General of political parties and a few members of the IPOD council shall be the people to attend this summit.

“So the presidents and Secretaries General of Democratic Party (DP), Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Justice Forum (JEEMA), National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) are expected to attend,” Lumumba said.
