MUBENDE: The Commissioner of NRM Electoral Commission Maj.(Rtd) Amb.James Williams Kinobe has said the ongoing local council elections have exposed the weakenesses of the opposition parties leaving NRM as the only strong political force.
Amb. Kinobe boosted today in Kassanda district, saying the many unopposed NRM village chairpersons after nominations by the independent electoral commission with in Kassanda, Mityana and Mubende districts indicate nothing but the weakening oppositions.
Kinobe said "the NRM is slowly eating up spaces of the opposition in this subregion because many of our flagbearers are unopposed. Kinobe said.
He added that the people are waking up to reality that the NRM remains a force to reckon with and only hope to lead uganda to socio economic transformation.
Kinobe said, "The residents in the places we have travelled are testifying the goodness of the NRM government."
Mr Kinobe also said all is set to convene village barazas tomorrow Wednesday and a slo participate in women council elections having dispatched the required materials to facilitate the meetings through subcounty chairpersons.
He called for unity and togetherness among NRM leaders to support party flagbearers against the independents and the opposition.
