The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will secure another resounding victory in the LC1 Chairperson elections set for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, following the successful conclusion of the party’s grassroots mobilisation tour of Greater Masaka.
Speaking in Biwolobo Village in Lyantonde District, as she wrapped up her tour as the NRM team leader for Greater Masaka, Namayanja thanked residents for the overwhelming support they showed the party during the recently concluded Village Women Council elections.
She noted that the nationwide mobilisation exercise, which began on July 19, had strengthened the party’s grassroots structures and reaffirmed NRM’s dominance in the sub-region.
According to Namayanja, 85 LC1 Chairperson seats in Lyantonde District have already been won unopposed by NRM flag bearers, a development she said clearly demonstrates the party’s strength and popularity at the grassroots.
“We are confident that tomorrow we shall register an overwhelming victory for our flag bearers still in the race. I thank the people of Greater Masaka and all Ugandans for their continued trust and belief in the NRM and its leadership,” she said.
She called on NRM leaders to intensify mobilisation efforts and urged voters across the country to elect NRM flag bearers, stressing that strong village leadership is critical to the successful implementation of government programmes, particularly the Parish Development Model (PDM).
Namayanja appealed to Ugandans in the Central Region and nationwide to turn out and vote for NRM candidates, emphasising that electing the party’s LC1 Chairpersons will strengthen grassroots leadership and ensure the smooth roll-out of government wealth creation initiatives.
The Deputy Secretary General also earlier in the day addressed a village baraza at Kimuli village, Rwentulege town council, in Rakai District where she called upon all Residents to vote for the NRM flagbearers in tomorrow's LC I Chairperson elections for continued prosperity in their respective communities.
