Beside security, from scratch, government under able leadership of President Museveni also took astride to rehabilitate the economy that had been in the economic limbo. He embarked on revival of the economy which for long had suffered an economic shock as a result of Idi Amins act of deporting Asians who owned most of the businesses. As a result, many businesses both small and big were ruined and factories eventually closed.

It was the job of the NRM to create investment incentives like providing free land, improve water and power connectivity, tax holidays  among others in order to attract both well meaning domestic and foreign investors. Industrial and businesses parks in various regions of the country have been gazetted production for example, Namanve, Luzira, Bwoyogerere, jinja,soroti and mbarara. In total,4,900 Factories have been built as of December 2019.

By the last financial year (2019/20), revenue collection had exponentially grown to UGX 19.5tn from 5 billion in 1986.

what is left for us is the expansion of the markets for our produced goods in East Africa, Africa and the world at large.
