Beside security, from scratch, government under able leadership of President Museveni also took astride to rehabilitate the economy that had been in the economic limbo. He embarked on revival of the economy which for long had suffered an economic shock as a result of Idi Amins act of deporting Asians who owned most of the businesses. It was the job of the NRM to create investment incentives like providing free land, improve water and power connectivity, tax holidays  among others in order to attract both well meaning domestic and foreign investors. Industrial and businesses parks in various regions of the country have been gazetted production for example, Namanve, Luzira, Bwoyogerere, jinja,soroti and mbarara.
