Secretary General
Richard Todwong
Richard Todwong currently serves as Secretary-General of the National Resistance Movement and heads the executive secretariat team. He previously served as Deputy Secretary-General from 2015 to 2021, and as Minister Without Portfolio in Uganda’s Cabinet in 2012.
He represented Nwoya County as a Member of Parliament and has served as a Special Advisor to the President of Uganda attached to Northern Uganda since 2006 — a role focused on governance and community development initiatives in the region.
He is passionate about community development; a seasoned community organiser and a social diplomat. Richard Todwong has dedicated his career to public service, economic governance and the political development of Uganda. He began his professional career in 1999 as an economist with the Uganda Revenue Authority and later served at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
