Governing the Movement
The NRM Constitution is the supreme governing document of the National Resistance Movement. It establishes the organs of the Movement, defines their powers and responsibilities, and sets out the rights and duties of members.
The Constitution embodies the principles of democracy, national unity, transparency and accountability that have guided the Movement since its founding. It provides the legal and structural framework within which the NRM pursues its vision of a peaceful, united and prosperous Uganda.
The document is organised around four categories of organs: Administrative Organs responsible for day-to-day operations, Policy Organs that set the strategic direction, Parliamentary and Council Caucuses, and nine Special Leagues that represent particular interest groups within the Movement.
